In the beginning.

It all started as a end to a means. When gas prices reached a record $4 a gallon, I could no longer afford gas for my pickup truck. I was putting almost $100 a week into it. That $100 could be used elsewhere easily. So I started surfing Craig's List in Houston. I set my budget for $1000, The amount that I thought I could get for my truck. But what I was really looking for was to do a even trade. I came across and add for a 82 750 for $1000. So I emailed the person and gave them my cell #. Within a couple hours a lady called me back. I asked her about the bike and she gave me all the details. I then asked her would she be willing to trade for a pickup truck. Her response was "Are you kidding, that's the reason why I am selling the bike!". So I set on a date to go see the bike. When I got there, it was not as pretty as in the pictures, but I just traveled 70 miles, and I was not leaving empty handed. She said the battery needed charged and probably some carb work, but it dose run, she assured me. So me and my brother man-handled this bike into the back of the truck to take it home and she will pick up the truck the next day. When we got home I hooked the jumper cables up to it and it fired right up with no choke at all and just purred. I was smiling for days. As it turned out the battery was bad but it was only a month old. So I took it back to Walmart and they exchanged it for me no questions asked, free of charge. As the saying goes the rest is history. So here she is the way she looked when I got her home.

  1. I'm not sure if this is a dead blog/project but be sure to visit bikes.com for LOTS OF good info and an excellent parts source.

Also before you ride again, take off the rear wheel and check for brake pad delamination. It may save your life!
